Science Concepts: June 1 to June 15
Examine the different types of Animals: reptiles/amphibians/mammals/birds/ fish
Examine how the different features animals have help them meet basic needs

Notes:  Get out there and enjoy nature whenever possible. Look for these different kinds of animals on your walks and adventures.

Introduce Science Words

Reptiles
air breathing/vertebrates
cold-blooded/scales
skin/bony plates
all shed skin
lays eggs(only boas and pythons have live births)

snakes/lizards
turtles/tortoises

cold-blooded/born in water in unshelled eggs(clear like bubbles)
breathes with gills
can live on land or in water
scaleless skin and easily dehydrate
